UCD’s new Dairy Research and Education Facility at Lyons Research Farm will support research programmes in dairy production including genetics, nutrition and herd health management. The facility will serve as an international showcase for the best in Irish dairy technology for many years to come.
With a capacity for 200 cows, the facility is part of a €2 million plus investment. Lyons Research Farm consists of over 580 acres located near the village of Newcastle in Co Kildare. It is used for teaching and research field activities by the UCD College of Agriculture, Food Science and Veterinary Medicine, University College Dublin.
McKeon Group’s Mechanical Division is pleased to have been involved in the construction of this state of the art facility. The mechanical works included process hot, mains and cold water services, washing water, comfort heating installation, boilerhouse and process plant room, ventilation and welfare facilities.
