McKeon Group acted as Main Contractor and PSCS on the refurbishment and fit out of Innovation House on DCU’s campus. The project was completed over three phases.
This former Enterprise Ireland HQ had a very 1980s feel to it and required a total uplift and fit out to create a bright, airy and welcoming feel. Huge care and attention went into the design and finish to create a funky environment to fit with the purpose of the facility. Design elements had to be adjusted onsite as issues arose and hundreds of decisions had to be made by McKeon Group to keep the project moving ahead.
Development of a restaurant and café in the existing Innovation House building as well as the internal refurbishment of existing offices within Innovation House on the ground and first floors, including removal of floors, walls, ceilings, doors and windows.
Renovation works were completed on the toilet blocks as well as the installation of a disabled toilet on the ground floor. All doors and windows were upgraded on the ground and first floor.
In addition, works included general fit-out, mechanical and electrical services and finishes, preparation for tenant occupation and external drainage works.
Demolition works and renovation of offices on the first, second, third and fourth floors of the building.
Renovation works were completed on the first floor toilet block as well as the installation of a disabled toilet on the first floor.
A disabled access lift was also installed to the rear of the building.
The works included the development of a new fire escape stairwell on the first floor, general fit-out, full electrical and and telecommunications re-wire as well as mechanical services upgrade and finishes.
Refurbishment and fit-out of existing Second Floor, comprising of its subdivision into five separate office suites and all associated works including new build provision for a new external escape stairs.
