ESB Substation Construction – GE Capital

Construction of a new ESB substation recessed into an existing building. Demolition of part of existing ground floor office area and construction of new RC retaining walls/ base slab to the new substation and switchroom. Services and drainage works associated with the alterations also included. Construction of a new meter room to the rear of the sub-station. Fit Out of this meter room with protection devices and metering facilities for the building. Provision of a 630A main switch fuse and metering arrangement, and removal of existing sub distribution system linking to a separate building.

Project Management, H&S Plan, Method Statements, Risk Assessments, Inductions, Emergency Plan, H&S File, Audits, Insurances, Inspections, control of subcontractors etc. were carried out by McKeon Group.

Work was carried out in an occupied building therefore works were scheduled on a phased basis, strict permit procedures adhered to and close coordination required at all times with client and building occupants.
